For the Inquiring Minds

Thanks to everyone for their kind words about the baby! We are so very excited. So, to answer a few of your questions:

1. I am 12 weeks and due April 26.

2. I haven't had any morning sickness! But I do have quite the gag reflex. I had a student throw up in front of me a few weeks ago and I just about lost it. I just can't handle anything gross right now.

3. I am not telling my students I'm pregnant (unless of course they read this blog!!!). I figure they'll figure it out eventually. I just don't want any awkward conversations about "How'd that happen?" Ironically, the Sex Ed. teacher is scheduled to come in the week I'm due, so I figure she can clarify for my students exactly how babies are made. In the mean time, they can just think I have a tumor or something.

4. We're not finding out what it is, but we are pretty sure it's a boy. (Forget I mentioned this if it ends up being a girl.) I want to find out, but Jamin doesn't, and so he wins.

5. All of the names I like don't sound good with our last name.

6. I wish I could start maternity leave now.

7. I have been very successful in my mission to give up Diet Pepsi during pregnancy.

So that pretty much sums up everything to this point! Only 8 weeks until graduation!

You should put up a baby ticker count. Those are so fun!

I'm pretty sure your kids from school have a good idea of how babies are made. The young women at church know way more about it than I even do! Kids these days.....
I'm happy to hear you are feeling good-and I'm happy that you aren't finding out what you are having! That's the best.

Haha! You should video tape your birth for your students to watch. Now THAT would explain where babies come from!

I'm glad you are not feeling sick. I couldn't not find out on my first baby... good luck! SO so happy for you.

I'm so excited for you! That's great that you aren't sick, especially with work. I can't believe you aren't finding out!! You are such a planner, I think it'll end up killing you! :)

I like Heather's idea! The kids would never ask questions then!

Heather--Maybe I could show your birth video to them? Then it would have a more "The Miracle of Life" feel to it! Actually, I remember my seminary teacher showing an excerpt from his wife's delivery--he had a piece of paper strategically placed over the improper bits. Very informative.

WHAT?! Please explain to me how on earth your seminary teacher's wife's birth video tied into a gospel lesson??
Sorry to inform you we are saving the birth video for Max's 16th birthday as a sort of scared straight program.

I remember that video in seminary...way more than I wanted to see. Also, I told my kids and they never said a word about where it came from so either that are just really slow or way ahead of the pack.
